In Goa, Smooth-coated Otters are seen using mangrove habitat. In some of these habitats there are land modifications like pathways and mud retaining walls. Some of the mud retaining walls were created during the Portuguese times to prevent salt water from entering the fields. It is very interesting to see how Otters use these pathways and mud retaining walls. In this video you can see otters going about their routines during the day. Patch of land seen is the retaining wall along the river Mandovi.
